Muncie, Indiana—a small city about 30 minutes from Anderson—offers two very special gardening-related sites:

• As one of east central Indiana’s gems, Minnetrista offers both natural and cultural beauty and information, including several gardens and a nature area. Visit http://www.mccoak.org/ for more information.

• Christy Woods, on the campus of Ball State University, surrounds the Wheeler Orchid Collection, one of the largest orchid species banks (http://www.bsu.edu/web/biology/fseec/WOCSB.htm).

These sites are both part of a larger land use and nature preservation project of the Ball State University Biology Department.
